Getting my shots estimated was easy because I could do it where I was and I didn't have to waste my time looking around for markers. He liked that he could use the simple drag and drop flag feature to get a rather close estimate of how far away his targets were.

My Garmin Approach G5 did not have the most up to date list of courses, so I had to spend a little bit of time downloading the courses I wanted to see. This doesn't take long, however, and it's a snap to use once you're on the course and swinging away. Overall, the Garmin Approach G5 can be used just as easily as any other GPS.

Though, it's not fair to compare the Garmin Approach to other rangefinders in this category, I always find myself doing it. This Garmin device made it extremely simple for me to get on a green or get around a hazard. The Garmin Approach G 5 has one minor drawback in its ability to get a distance to the pin. It is awesome other than that.

It's not worth it and he wouldn't use it. Golfers don't need gimmicks to keep score, they want gimmicks to reduce their score.
