Associated Press accounts indicate that Lana Lawless, a 57-year-old transgender golfer, has leveled a suit at the Ladies Professional Golf Association for barring her from competition. A U.S. District Court in San Francisco will decide whether the LPGA's rule that all competitors has to be "born female" is legal. Lawless maintains that such a rule runs afoul of the civil rights granted to her by CA law. Lawless wants the law to bar the LPGA from California and demand that Long Drivers of America pay her damages. Lana Lawless is a challenger in long-drive championship

Lawless hit 335 yards in the RE/MAX World Long Drive Tournament. This made her the 2008 winner. Now the event won't allow Lawless to defend her title, as the participation policy has fallen in line with Ladies Professional Golf Association standards. Moonbattery compares Lana Lawless' suit to transgender tennis pro Renée Richards' suit that made it to the new York Supreme Court in 1977. Moonbattery also makes the leap to suggesting that Lana Lawless has chosen the right liberal court, as Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker just lately made a key ruling in favor of gay marriage.

Playing golf following the S.W.A.T.

Lana Lawless was a man who worked in Southern CA city being a bartender before this change. She also worked being a S.W.A.T. cop for 18 years, reports Right Celebrity. Lawless had been also married, but fathered no children. Lawless explained, "I had a very tough and mean exterior. Individuals did not want to mess with me.". "But Lana had been always in there. I had begun to go to Los Angeles to the clubs, playing dress-up on the weekends. But I wanted to be a normal girl."

A girl competitor that's normal

Lawless is in opposition to the odds. "I am a female," she always says. "I've lost muscle mass. I don't have big guns (biceps). They give you a drug that stops you from producing testosterone. Your muscles atrophy. I feel like I don't have any power." Perhaps an additional landmark legal ruling in favor of the transgendered will change that.
